I give up... I put it in great big inch tall, brightly coloured letters on the events page (which i would of thought was the most obvious name of a page to display information about the events) as well as being scrolled continually along the top of the screen on the forum in bold type & people still have to ask or email to find out what day / time the run is.
On your way back from the run, call into the opticians ![]()

don't worry matey, it's not just you.. i have about 100 emails a week in the run up to an event from people who can't be bothered to look for the information on the site.. they come to the site & go straight to the contact page & send me an email asking what time the run starts or what day it's on or do they have to bring an easter egg etc.. despite the fact i put a notice in bright red lettering on the contact page to say "Please do not contact us via the website to ask for dates or similar details of our next event, all event details can be found by clicking here" & people still email to ask what day / time /etc etc.
Usually i email them back with "all the information can be found on our website" & give a link, but this year i've just not been bothered & deleted the emails.. sorry & i know it sounds harsh & as though i'm spitting my dummy out & i'm not doing my job & being helpful, but if people haven't got the time or the inteligence to look for the blooming obvious, why should i take the effort & it makes me think why should i bother as i begin to think they won't have the incentive or ability to read the email reply anyway if they have to ask such pathetic questions. You don't walk into an indian takeaway & ask if they sell curry... mind you some people probably would.
I've really tried to do my best with this site to make sure this site is laid out properly & all the information is well highlighted, concise & very easy to find... when i've asked the question on the forum if what i'm doing is right i just get told that yes, it's fine - more than fine & it's perfectly simple, yet it does get to me sometimes that despite this i get asked the same question "when is the run, what time does it start" every time we organise a run.

Well if you don't know by now, you're probably going to miss it. :fume:
I bet as well that when i get back later today.. at around 10-11am, someone will of emailed to ask if it's the Egg run today & they'll be expecting a reply, despite the fact i'll be stuck at the Kings Hall & a long way from internet access.

why, the egg run won't be televised
although it would be nice.. (big hint time) even if Motors TV or Men & Motors turned up with a film crew... they do it for other events, Bulldog bash, NEC show, Classic bikeshow, TT, Thundersprint etc why not the Egg & Toy runs?... & as we started it it's only fitting they should come to us.

because the questions are coming via email i.e. "what time?", "what day is the Egg run?" etc, i'm making this thread sticky. if you don't know why read back to post number #3 & #5

i'll say it again....

the invite is there if there isn't much else going on anywhere else to film!!
I'll also extend the invitation to the Discovery channel network (Discovery Turbo, Discovery Real time, Shed, Quest, etc etc) & anyone else.

That should do it
we will have loads of camera crews fighting for a vantage point.

I saw a Guy with a camcorder and a tripod (I think it was from Dixons though) so It might not be on the silver screen this time

Oh no they are disguising them to look like punters now
I saw some of the gatso's getting tripped by bikes heading towards them on the run.

the sniper b4ts3drs are getting everywhere now, some of them even managed to get on to the back of some bikes - so they can catch you overtaking every time.
